    Day by Day Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrive in Lhasa
  • Arrive in Lhasa, which is the religious and political heart of the Tibetan world. Then you will be transferred to the hotel in Lhasa. On the way, you will enjoy the ¡®heart-beating¡¯ highland view along the Yarlong Tsangpo River.
  • Day 2 Lhasa - B.L.D
  • Start your first day with Lhasa's landmark- Potala Palace, a structure of massive portions. It had stood on Mount Mapori for a millennium. After lunch visit the Jokhang Temple which is the spiritual center of Tibet. Everyday, pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek here from long distances to worship. Finally we will visit Barkhor Street which is the oldest street in this very traditional Tibetan city.
  • Day 3 Lhasa - B.L.D
  • Today's sightseeing begins with Drepung Monastery(8KM west of Lhasa), which was once the largest Monastery with over 10,000 monks. Walking up to the hill is a pleasant thing, an easy break from the solemn ambience inside the halls and chapels. Around 5km north of central Lhasa, Sera Monastery may not be as grandiose as Drepung, but is more serene surrounded by many small temples. The 'Buddhism Scriptures Debating' in Sera is very famous.
  • Day 4 Lhasa/Yamdrotso lake/Gyangtse/ Shigatse - B.L.D
  • Depart from Lhasa in the morning. pass Gangbala Mt. which is over than 5000m, then to Yamdrotso lake which is holy lake in Tibet, after visiting Gyangtse Kumbum and having a far view of Zongshan ruins,arrive in Shigatse
  • Day 5 Shigatse/ Tingri - B.L.D
  • Take the Friend-ship way to pass to Tingri. Then from Tingri to Everest Base Camp with the very rough road, pass the wild grassland, cross the river and high mountains. During this route, you can have a glimpse of 4 mountains which is 8000m high or more. Then arrive at Rongphu Monastery.
  • Day 6 Rongphu Monastery/ Everest Base Camp/ Shigatse - B.L.D
  • Start early morning to see the sunrise from Rongphu then to view Mt. Everest. It is fabulous and splendid. Trek to Base Camp around 1.5-2 hours one way. You need to walk slowly to adjust to your breathing. Hike up to the top of the photo point to take pictures of the splendid- Mt. Everest. Then late in the afternoon go down from Everest Base Camp back to Shigaste.
  • Day 7 Shigatse/ Lhasa - B.L.D
  • Visit TashiLumpo Monastery which was Built in1447,spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas, then driving back with the Friend-ship Highway back to Lhasa.
  • Day 8 Depart from Lhasa - B
  • Transfer you to the airport and see you off, End of the tour with China Travel Select
